Johanna “Anne” Mansfield Sullivan Macy, better known as Anne Sullivan, was an American blind teacher. She received her education as a student of the Perkins School for the Blind. After graduation Anne became the instructor and lifelong companion of Helen Keller. With Anne’s help Helen became the first deaf-blind person to earn a bachelor of arts degree deaf-blind girl.
