Early morning shift 7:15-8:15 weekdays, 2-3 weekdays a week.Instruction will be in our home near I25 and Orchard Road in the Denver Tech Center.
We will train, have materials and data sheets for recording sessions. The student is a very inquisitive and active 6 year old first grade boy who happens to have Down syndrome and use alternate expressive means of communication (non verbal) such as simple modified sign language and a Vantage Light/Unity language device. Receptively, he understand everything.
This instructional approach does integrate a multi modal instructional system of sign language, speech generating AAC device. Will cover literacy (reading and writing) as well as some math. Will train, but this position does require past experience with direct instruction of academics 1:1 with those with learning differences, strong projection of confidence, and good intuition to adjust "on the fly" . Between sessions, you will need to reflect on what went well and how to adjust to meet the student's need. He spends 80% of his time in the general education classroom, and once engaged, is very responsive to instruction.
Please send your resume, with contact information as well as references and availability with relevant experience and reason why you are interested. Preference to those available year round, with availability to increase hours during school breaks. Key is reliability, both in car transportation and showing up prepared, energetic and ready to instruct.
Thank you!

- Prof BAM is absolutely amazing.
In 3 weeks, brought my son's regents test score up 14 points.
He's professional and extremely good at what he does.
He shows his students how to break the test questions down to be more successful.
He always works with our busy schedule. Highly recommend.
