"Hi I'm Alan. I've been a Math and Science Tutor in the Houston area for over 13 years. Over the years I have taught students from Elementary to High School, with a focus on higher level math and science courses. I have a degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin and I have come to help students from many levels of understanding over the years. My philosophy in teaching is to build understanding as well as confidence. The ultimate goal is self proficiency in the subjects as we know that the tutor sessions are the stepping stone to success in the classroom. Every student has specific needs, and whether it is an honors student looking to solidify that A or a student that is having a tougher time understanding the topic at hand, a tutor must tailor their teaching style to fit the student and that is the approach that I have adopted over the years of tutoring.
