"Hi, I’m Angelina! I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Public Health with honors in 2024. My MCAT breakdown is 524 total with 131/132/130/131, and started out with a diagnostic of 498. Since then, I have successfully tutored students from 500--> 517 in a summer, 498-->505 in two weeks, and more. College has not simply been about learning content, but also learning how to learn effectively accounting for personal strengths. I apply this strategy to every student I encounter, and especially focus on guiding students towards thinking of content through their own lens and critical thinking processes. I self-studied for the MCAT, created my own schedule, found my own study resources (no expensive prep courses), learned the "MCAT style," and more! I would love to apply what I learned to help you not only learn MCAT content, but strategize what to learn (balancing high versus low yield) and how to learn it. I believe it's partly a mental game, and I hope to help you through that.
I often informally tutored friends in course material and the ACT, and have formally tutored extensively in one-on-one settings. For 1.5 years, I tutored English as a second language to refugees and assisted in developing curriculums and training other tutors. Starting in August 2023, I began tutoring a high school student in precalculus, and began tutoring several students for the MCAT, especially for the CARS section.
I hope to create a welcoming environment to encourage active learning, and am always open to suggestions. Feel free to reach out for more details and chat about how I could help!" less...
