I love all people but especially those striving to improve themselves. It is much more rewarding to work one-on-one with a student than an entire class. I've worked as a classroom teacher, a specialist and as a tutor over the last 18 years. When I needed to provide extra support for a student, I did. For me, it was always much more rewarding to witness a student struggling with a concept be successful and approach following lessons with little to no anxiety. Those students put in 200% effort to grasp the concept in comparison with what others seemed to exert so much less than 100%.

For the first 10 years of teaching in Kindergarten to high school, I worked with students who were struggling with grade level material. This experience has prepared me to work with students in multiple ways to support their learning. I strongly believe in a growth mindset. By that I mean that, every person's level of intelligence is not set. I've witnessed this many times.

I have a degree in Spanish and a Master's in Education. However, this is just the surface of my skills and experience in all subjects. Over 18 years, I've learned about every type of learner and I dedicate all my efforts to help my students be successful.

I love math and I was never the smartest math student. In the beginning of the year, my former students would say they hated math, but after working with me, they said they loved math. Most importantly, they mastered skills to work independently and confidently. I'm licensed to teach all elementary level math using CCSS and teaching math up to Algebra level.

I have worked with ESL students at all proficiency levels for 18 years. I understand about creating curriculum for specific English concepts as well as providing support in all school subjects at all grade levels.
