"My name is Franklin, and I am excited to make a difference on Wyzant! I am proud to have attended Yale University twice, receiving a bachelor's degree in Ecology and a master's in Environmental Management, focusing on conserving at-risk forested ecosystems across the country. Even at Yale, I strived to stand out, graduating summa cum laude (3.99 and 3.97 GPA) and being one of 17 juniors elected to my Phi Beta Kappa class.
While my studies are primarily focused on environmental research, where I graduated with distinction in my major and a departmental prize, the liberal arts education I gained at Yale and an advanced public high school prepared me in many areas, with college-level training in biology, chemistry, physics, English composition, and math (especially statistics). I consider myself to be skilled at standardized testing, receiving a 5 on 13 AP exams (including 1 in eighth grade!), an 800 on 3 SAT subject tests, and a 1580 on my first SAT attempt.
Coming from a family of educators, I have had many opportunities to assist family members, friends, and peers, working collaboratively to grow student confidence in academic and essay-writing opportunities. My existing tutoring has largely focused on mathematics, biology, and environmental studies, but I have also assisted in more complex topics, such as editing applications, large projects, and published materials for clarity and accessibility.
It is my hope that I can serve as a resource for my clients, not just solving problems but building robust foundations to improve confidence. I pride myself on flexibility and availability, and will respond to inquiries and in-lesson needs as they come up. Whether you are looking for standardized test prep, help in a college course, or interdisciplinary guidance, I would love to offer my services." less...
