"Hi! My name is Kyra. I am a 2023 graduate from the University of Washington with a BS in neuroscience and a BA in psychology. I’m an incoming MD student, joining the class of 2029!

I’ve been tutoring biology and chemistry at a high school and college level for 2+ years and have extensive experience in that regard. I started off working as a freelance tutor for local high schoolers in my freshman year of college. Then, starting October 2023, I began working with another tutoring platform and have worked with students who are sophomores/juniors in high school taking general biology, AP biology, general chemistry, honors chemistry, and AP chemistry. I have also tutored college sophomore-level cellular biology and microbiology, but less often than I tutor high school-level courses. I have also worked as a volunteer literacy volunteer with Reading Partners Seattle, supporting early elementary students in building their reading and comprehension skills, with 6 months of experience in this degree.

I believe I am excellent at adapting to the learning style of my learners. I like to think of myself as a auditory learner who thrives with repetition and active practice and recall, and of course, I thrive with students who lean toward these styles. However, I am excellent at adapting to alternate learning styles such as visual and kinesthetic learning. Whatever the way you prefer to learn, I am positive I can adapt and support.
