"Hi, I'm Lisa! I have a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, 20 years experience as an elementary teacher, and am a National Board Certified teacher in English as a New Language. I taught 14 years in bilingual Spanish / English programs and 6 years as an ESL / bilingual resource teacher before transitioning to teacher coaching and professional development.

I love making learning fun! My favorite subjects are reading, writing, and Spanish, but I like other subjects too. My strengths are coaching beginning and struggling learners and building their self-esteem and skills. I've been told I'm good at making complicated things easy to understand. Every learner is different and tutoring lets me find strategies that work for each individual. After a career in the classroom, I continue doing the best parts of teaching--working with learners and celebrating successes.
