"I have 20 years of experience in elementary and special education. I have taught a vast variety of children. I have experience with children that are typically developing, have ADHD, autism, dyslexia, are non-verbal, have a speech impediment, have health/medical problems, and children who are non-mobile.

I am familiar with the common core, IEP’s and 504’s. I’m able to come up with different strategies on the spot to help a child learn and understand the material.

I create a warm and safe learning environment for my students. I am very patient, caring, and understanding. These qualities allow me to make a good connection and have a great relationship with my students. My favorite part about teaching is the “ah ha moment” when the student make the connection and understands the material or lesson they’ve been struggling with.

I have many different strategies to help students understand.math. Sometimes you have to think outside the box.

I love teaching handwriting! I use verbal cues to help children learn how to form letters and numbers correctly.
