"Hi! I am an experienced genomics scientist with a PhD and a Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Johns Hopkins University. I currently work at a biotech company specializing in next-generation sequencing focusing on single-cell genomic solutions. I am passionate about learning and research and love helping others better understand complex science. I'm amiable and outgoing, with a penchant for humor and making learning more fun.
I have extensive advanced tutoring and teaching experience, having served as a teaching assistant for undergraduate Genetics and Cell Biology laboratory courses at Johns Hopkins University. In that capacity, I supervised and supported approximately 20 students per course and graded exams and homework for 150-200 students. I am familiar with a wide range of topics including organic chemistry, genetics, and molecular biology, and would be well-suited to tutoring students in these areas. I am highly knowledgeable in cell cycle regulation and have published research on the interaction of a cell cycle regulator Cdc5 kinase with pericentromeric DNA and cohesin. My scientific interests include epigenetics, eukaryotic gene regulation and single-cell multiomics.
Outside of the science realm, my interests include soccer, hiking, powerlifting, cooking, animals - especially dogs and tending to an evergrowing jungle of indoor plants." less...
