"I have been teaching and tutoring for 30 years. I have taught High School Social Studies, English, and Geometry, including several Advanced Placement courses. Although most of my teaching has been in Social Studies, most of my tutoring has been in Math. What I enjoy most about tutoring is helping students gain confidence by giving them the tools they need to succeed.

In addition to teaching and tutoring, I live on a small farm with my wife and three children, We raise miniature dairy goats (milking by hand), miniature horses, alpacas (my daughters spin the wool into yarn), chickens, and Great Pyrenees dogs.

Math always came easily for me, until Geometry. I was totally lost, and then we moved. The new teacher gave me a passing grade, mostly because the last few weeks of school was a preview of Algebra II, which I had already taken. It wasn't until I started tutoring and had a student who wouldn't go to anyone else that I taught myself Geometry as I tutored the student.

I have always loved reading - reading almost anything. Growing up with a mom who had a degree in English and a dad with a degree in Journalism, grammar and spelling also came naturally to me. I enjoy passing that knowledge on to students.
