"My name is Rich. "All Math All the Time"--was on my classroom door for many years. I have a BA in Philosophy from the State University of New York at Binghamton(SUNY Binghamton, now known as Binghamton University) I have a M.Ed. in Special Education from Dowling College. After my first two years as an elementary teacher, I spent the rest of my career teaching at the high school level. I quickly became the go to special education teacher for math at the first high school I was at for 16 years. I then worked at my second high school for ten years, almost exclusively in math, both regular and special education. The last two years of my career were spent at another school close to where we moved in 2021 and I taught math in both the regular and special education setting.
I am very comfortable explaining mathematical concepts to students that have historically struggled with math. I thoroughly enjoy when students have that "aha" moment. During many years of my teaching career I have tutored in person after school and then online as well, more recently
Although I have many years of life experience, I still consider myself relatively young. For the past five years I have consumed knowledge and gained a great understanding of wellness and longevity and feel as healthy now as I have ever been. I look forward to helping students gain the confidence they deserve in life by bringing them success in math.
