"Hi! I'm James. I have over 34 years experience in total teaching music and languages, and I pride myself on my unique methods and the outstanding results students obtain with me.

I was a musical prodigy as a child in Canada, garnering several awards including being the first winner of the J.J.H. McLean trophy when I was 10 years old. I went on to study privately using the curriculum of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, then graduated early from school and became a professional musician at age 16.

I have lived in 15 cities in 5 countries. In New York I taught at Sacred Heart Catholic school in the Bronx and was a councilor at the prestigious Creative Arts Summer Camp. I also lived in Bogota where I was a professor at EMMAT, a music school that's part of Berklee's International Network. I continue to consult with them and work with their online department.

I am also a certified translator in Colombia, and continue to work freelance with clients all over the world, as well as teaching English and Spanish to people from all walks of life.

My methodology is based largely on proven techniques such as NLP, which, by definition, means it's also very much customized to the individual I am teaching.

I'm proud of the fact that people who previously thought they couldn't learn a new language or learn to play piano or sing have been able to achieve their goals with me. In fact, I specialize in people who struggle to meet their goals. I consider myself an expert at finding what's blocking a student's progress and eliminating that block.
