I have developed strong backgrounds in STEM and language through my college coursework and have maintained a 4.0 GPA. As a junior majoring in astrophysics, I am knowledgeable in several topics: Math, biology, astronomy, physics, and French. I have taken 3 semesters of math in college and have excelled through the level of ordinary differential equations. Likewise, I completed 3 semesters of college biology; I received the highest grade in the class in one of these 1000-student lectures. I have taken 5 semesters of astronomy, 2 of physics, and have conducted research with UVA’s astronomy department analyzing telescope data. Finally, I have been studying French for 7 years, receiving two gold medals on the national French proficiency exam, Le Grand Concours.

I have tutoring experience. I am a TA in an introductory biology class at UVA that covers genetics and cell structure. I help students work through in-class activities and answer content questions from lecture. I tutored a high school student in French for several months in which I planned activities to practice verb conjugation, grammatical tenses, and their speaking skills. I also spent 10 weeks leading activities to help a group of UVA postgraduate students refine their English conversational skills.
