"Throughout my academic journey, I have cultivated a deep passion for teaching and mentorship, which has driven me to seek out numerous opportunities to share knowledge and support my peers.
I graduated from Nova Southeastern University (NSU) with degrees in Biology and English Literature. At NSU, I served as a Supplemental Instructor Leader, facilitating engaging, student-led group tutoring sessions in subjects such as organic chemistry, general chemistry, and biology. This experience not only honed my ability to communicate complex concepts but also reinforced my commitment to fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Following my undergraduate studies, I continued my education at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, where I actively contributed to my peers’ success by editing applications and conducting mock interviews for medical school. My specialty was in crafting and refining personal statements, ensuring that each student could effectively convey their unique stories. Additionally, I worked as a teaching assistant and tutor in pathology and histology, further enhancing my teaching skills in a medical context.
In my free time, I run an organization dedicated to improving dermatologic health literacy among students. Through presentations at local community centers and middle and high schools, I educate young people on recognizing skin cancer, particularly in skin of color, and emphasize the importance of sun protection.
As I advance in my medical career, I remain committed to teaching, tutoring, and mentorship, believing that these roles are integral to my development as a future physician. I look forward to inspiring and guiding the next generation of learners." less...
