"Hi! My name is Eric, and I am a current MS3 student at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. I graduated from NYU in 2021 (Chemistry major, Computer Science and Math minor; 4.0 science GPA, 3.98 overall GPA), where I was the VP of the Phi Lambda Upsilon Chemistry Honor Society and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
To me, learning is a road with no end. It is a process of continuous reinforcement where the foundations matter just as much as one's progress. Hence, I believe learning should never be about pure memorization; it should rather be a process of understanding key concepts that will truly allow one to understand the subject matter at hand. This means that I will take my time to break complex ideas down and work together with the student to ensure that he or she completely masters the material. As a tutor, I will try my best to make learning fun by catering lessons for students, allowing them to rapidly absorb information, for I believe active engagement is the key to learning and remembering.
I have had more than six years of tutoring experience in the past, starting from high school, where I have held a variety of tutoring positions, including but not limited to being the tutoring head for Spanish Honor Society. I continued my passion for tutoring throughout college as well, tutoring both my friends in subjects like organic chemistry and through volunteering in programs like the University Settlement Beacon Program, where I helped improve test scores of underprivileged, impoverished minorities in math and science by an average of 5-10 points.
After self-studying throughout the summer, I scored a 520 on September 12th, 2020 MCAT exam, or the top 98th percentile. My score breakdown is: 132 Chemistry/physics, 128 CARS, 131 biology/biochemistry, 129 psychology/sociology. Please don’t hesitate to reach out and contact me if you have any questions at all. I would love to work with you to help you reach your goals!" less...
