I received my Bachelor's in Neuroscience from UCLA with a 3.5 GPA, and my Master's in Bioengineering from UC Riverside with a 3.9 GPA.

Academics never came easy to me until I discovered the difference between learning and understanding. You may understand something, but have you really learned it? When you truly learn something, you'll also be able to demonstrate that you understand it. This mindset pushed me through many years of Spanish, science, and math classes.

Wanting to share this approach with others, I have spent nearly 12 years tutoring! I initially started with in-person and virtual private tutoring for grades 6-12 and university students, focusing primarily on Spanish, biology, and algebra. Building on my virtual experiences and recognizing the academic gaps caused by the pandemic, I then founded a chapter of the School on Wheels organization, called School on Wheels at UCLA. The purpose of this organization was to unite college students to enhance educational opportunities through virtual tutoring for K-12 students experiencing homelessness in the greater Los Angeles area. I tutored 5-10 students weekly in subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Algebra, Calculus, and Geometry. This introduced me to elementary-age students, particularly those in highly sensitive circumstances, which helped me cultivate and apply deeper compassion, patience, and empathy into my tutoring style.

To my future students, I like to begin by understanding what you already know so that we can maximize our time on the areas where you need the most help. I put myself in your shoes to teach you in the way you learn best, not the way I know something.
