"Hello! My name is Ani S. and I recently graduated with a BS in General Engineering at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. As an engineering major, I have a lot of experience with Math, General Chemistry and Introductory Physics. I enjoy working with students while studying, and I know that collaboration is a great way for students like me to cement their knowledge. I have also led study groups where I’ve reviewed the professor’s lecture and talked through example problems with my peers.
One of the things I love about tutoring is that it is relatively stress free. It gives you the opportunity to make mistakes without them affecting your grades. I've had a professor say "fail early, and fail often," because you can learn from those mistakes to cement in concepts or strategies from any subject. It’s also super helpful to be able to check your work against someone else’s. Not only can it help you find out where you went wrong (if you did), but it can also demonstrate more efficient methods of solving those problems.
As an engineering major, I've had to take several classes in Math, Physics, and Chemistry that extend beyond the high school level. I have taken both Algebra-based physics (AP Physics 1), and Calculus-based physics (General Physics for Scientists and Engineers). I also have both high school and post-high school experience with General Chemistry (Honors Chemistry in high school; General Chemistry for Scientists and Engineers at Cal Poly). As for my math repertoire, I’m currently clear to tutor from Algebra to Precalculus, all of which use skills honed by my experience in the entire Calculus series (Calculus 1-4) , Linear Algebra and Differential Equations (Linear Analysis 1).
In order to best protect my health, I exclusively tutor online.
I'm excited to work with you and/or your student! Let me know if you have any questions or concerns, or if you want to set up an appointment." less...
