"I believe that it is good to be wrong, and even better to be unsure. While being right is highly gratifying in the moment, being wrong (and accepting it) is what makes you more right in the future. To be unsure, is to be open to learning. It’s a simple idea, but it’s worth considering, otherwise one might be tempted to fear being wrong and to avoid being unsure.

When it comes to learning, this is my philosophy. As a tutor, whether focusing on elementary-level math or high school physics, my primary goal is to encourage students to enjoy the process of learning, rather than viewing it as a chore, and to appreciate the value of being wrong or unsure, rather than only trying to only be right. I believe that this approach encourages intellectual curiosity and fosters lifelong learning habits.
Subjects that I have a significant amount of experience in include: Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, Chemistry, Physics, Philosophy, and Psychology. My experience tutoring thus far (about one year) has been focused in various levels of mathematics with children in elementary through high school at a math tutoring center, though I am fairly new to private tutoring.
I have taken numerous college-level mathematics classes, including Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III, Statistics, and Differential Equations. In the Spring of 2021, I graduated "summa cum laude" from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a minor in Philosophy, though I spent my first two years of college studying Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, I have taken several elective courses in various sciences, like Chemistry I and II, Astronomy, and Physics I and II.
If interested, please do not hesitate to reach out to me to discuss more about my experiences and tutoring style. Hopefully we will have a chance to work together!" less...
