If students have problems they don't want to share with their friends or parents, I am the one they will come talk to. I am good at creating positive culture for students by celebrating and recognizing their accomplishments because I believe motivation and drive are what influence individuals' success.
I was born in a Japanese family of teachers; my parents and aunt are elementary school teachers, and my uncle is a law school professor. My mother often took me to her job when I was little, and her positive impact on children’s lives inspired me to become a teacher myself.
Ever since I was a little kid, my passion has been languages. I memorized all my books before learning to read, and I taught myself Japanese sign language when I was 11. When I started taking English classes at middle school, I realized that learning foreign languages allows me to communicate with people from all around the world.
I studied Linguistics and Japanese Language Pedagogy in Waseda University, and I studied abroad for two semesters at Boston College in my sophomore year. After graduating from university, I taught English and Japanese as a tutor at a cram school in Tokyo for 3 years. From 2013 to March 2020, I worked at Japan College of Foreign Languages as a course manager.
I welcome both beginners and learners who have taken Japanese classes before. Please let me know what your goals are, and I will plan the lessons for you.
If you want to improve your general conversation skills, vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing or business Japanese, I can help you. Start your Japanese language learning today! Feel free to contact me with additional questions or to schedule a lesson." less...
