"Hi there,
I obtained my Bachelor of Science at the University of Virginia and completed my Master's at George Washington University and my PhD in Microbiology and Immunology at Georgetown University.
My tutoring experience began in high school, where I tutored my neighbor's son. Since then, I have been teaching and working as a math and science tutor for 10+ years. Notably, I have worked as a Teaching Assistant for GWU biochemistry course and taught as a part-time faculty member at Catholic University of America.
I have experience tutoring students with a wide variety of interests and backgrounds as well as learning difficulties such as ADHD and testing anxiety. My high school students have found great success in their classes and gained acceptance to prestigious universities such as Yale and Chicago.
In addition, I have also tutored college and graduate students as well as adult learners in challenging subjects such as biochemistry, biostatistics, anatomy and physiology, and standardized exams such as the GRE and MCAT.
I believe that each student has a unique set of strengths and weaknesses and a unique learning style. Therefore, I use an interactive and interdisciplinary approach in teaching, where I adapt my teaching style to fit each student's needs.
In addition to teaching, I am equally passionate about helping my students with career choices. I have taken standardized exams (the SAT, ACT, GRE, and MCAT), applied to colleges and graduate schools, and worked as a young professional. From these experiences, I can provide students with informed advice on admissions to colleges and graduate programs as well as subsequent career paths. I am comfortable teaching students across age groups and educational levels, from middle schoolers to adult learners.
In summary, I am a passionate educator, and I want to help my students reach their educational goals. Thank you for reading, and I look forward to working with you." less...
