"I want to help your family member develop as a writer and discover talents that this person never knew that he or she has. Enthusiasm for helping young people improve their English and writing skills is a passion. Being that I have taught English Composition to college students for the past 9 years, I am certainly qualified.

Building rapport and trust is also important, and I as a relaxed person have all the time in the world to help your family member meet his goals of improving his or her English skills and ability to critically think. Meetings in a casual and relaxed forum is my preference, and it's important for students to identify their own strengths and knowledge base. In the classroom, I apply Socratic principles of "knowing thyself," and I firmly believe that any young person is capable of learning basic English skills and concepts.

I have also been a free-lance writer for several newspapers at the collegiate level, and I am in the process of writing a book.
