"Hi my name is Kim. I have been teaching for 17 years. Currently I am teaching 6th grade science but I have also taught 8th grade ELA. I love to share my knowledge with students. My classroom is engaging and my students really enjoy my lessons. Other Credentials of interest; I am a WGBH Teacher Advisor for an initiative called Bringing the Universe to America’s Classroom. I also have worked in a program in my district called Next Steps for Success (NSS), which is a program to help at Risk students be More successful. I worked with students helping them organized, tutoring them when necessary and getting them ready for the day ahead of them. I have tutored for the SAT, SSAT and ISEE exams for the past. I am patient and have a good understanding of children and teens.

I currently tutor students grade 3 - 7 in ELA, Science, math, social studies. Also, I provide academic coaching to provide skills to help your student become successful.

I understand what the common core standards are. I have innovative methods of teaching whole numbers, addition, subtraction multiplication and division, fractions and decimals to help students build important skills sets and to improve their critical thinking skills. I am well versed in poetry, prose , myths etc. and again help students to develop critical thinking skills.

I have a great deal of experience tutoring English and Grammar - I have tutored English, comprehension, writing and grammar for the pasy 8 years for the SAT, the SSAT and the ISEE exams.

I have taken a great deal of Professional Development on the student with ADHD. I have taught many students with ADHD and I have many interventions to the student with ADHD be successful. Currently I am enrolled in an AUtism specialist certificate program.

Within the past year I took the general curriculum for elementary education. In preparing for the exam I read and familiarized myself with American History. Likewise I am a history buff and I enjoy reading books about the history of The United States" less...
