"Do you face writing anxiety? Do you struggle to turn your ideas into a well-written composition? Do you experience imposter's syndrome in your academic program? For the past 10 years I have worked with countless writers who face these roadblocks. I want you to know you can overcome them.
I have helped undergraduates, graduate students, and adult learners succeed in their writing projects, from first-year composition assignments to doctoral dissertations. As an Honors Writing Tutor, Writing Center consultant, and College Composition professor, I have mentored students at various skill levels from a variety of disciplines. Whether you are writing an English essay, a Nursing philosophy, or a Math dissertation, I am excited to help you improve as a writer in your specific field of study. My students have consistently reported improvement in their writing, greater confidence as writers, and better grades.
Whether you are a first-year college student, a PhD candidate, or a non-traditional student pursuing your degree after years in the workforce, I would love to come alongside you in your writing endeavors. I love meeting new people and learning from my students' research and experience. I find fulfillment and joy in helping you refine your writing voice and succeed in your program.
My specialties include academic writing (research papers, conference papers, seminar papers, theses, and dissertations) first-year college composition essays, working with multilingual/ESL students, application essays, brainstorming, personal statements, and literature essays.
A note on my methods: I will meet you wherever you are in your process. From blank page to final proofread, I am committed to your short- and long-term improvement as a writer. However, I am also committed to preserving your authorial voice. Thus, I will not tell you exactly what to write. The editing process will be collaborative, and I will do my best to spark ideas and guide your writing to be the best it can be.
I look forward to working with you!" less...
