"I tailor my teaching style to each of my student's intuitive train of thought. This practice involves a careful analysis of the student's strengths and weaknesses as well as an assessment of his/her instinctive method in determining the solution. I exercise a high degree of patience by initially allowing my students to work through each problem before I intervene. This enables a continuous feedback loop for me and an autonomous learning structure for them, which ultimately translates to successful, independent thinking. Moreover, I communicate to my students the importance of accountability and encourage them to be organized, disciplined, and dedicated both in and out of our sessions.
I hold an engineering degree and have extensive experience tutoring mathematics at all levels (elementary through AP/college) including at Boca Raton Community High School and Eagles Landing Middle School. Additionally, I have an MBA (99 percentile GMAT score) and my test preparation experience includes the PSAT/NMSQT, SAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE/ERB, PERT, HSPT, Accuplacer, GMAT, and GRE. I also specialize in teaching Exceptional Education Students (ESE) with learning differences including ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, anxiety disorder, etc.
Over the last few years, I have provided guidance to dozens of students in a effort to optimize their resumes for college acceptance. This process typically begins in 10th grade and involves test preparation (SAT/ACT), course planning, subject tutoring, followed by the identification of target colleges, and concludes with the application process (essay construction, letters of rec, etc). More specifically, I have significant experience navigating prospective collegiate athletes through the "off the field/court" academic and college planning process. In aggregate, I have assisted aspiring collegiate and private school students in achieving nearly $2 million worth of scholarship awards and a 95+% acceptance rate into their learning institution of choice." less...
