"I'm a native English speaker with over 15 years of experience in accounting and finance. Professionally, I have worked in the areas of project finance, corporate finance, and securitizations. Financial transaction sizes have ranged from several million to several billion dollars. In the past few years, I have been working with entrepreneurs to help them secure funding for their startups.

I began my career in investment banking on Wall Street in New York. Without any prior experience whatsoever in either accounting or finance, I initially struggled with accounting, finance, and financial modeling when I first started working. About a year later, I had my "ah-ha!" moment and then thought, "You know, this stuff is not that difficult. Why do they teach it in a way that's so hard to learn?"

I teach people finance, accounting, and Excel financial modeling that is more intuitive and use everyday examples that anyone can relate to. I love helping people get to their "ah-ha!" moment, because I remember how it felt for me.

I was a teaching assistant for graduate level accounting and financing courses, for both the full-time and executive programs, at Columbia University where I earned my Master's degree; I received very positive feedback from students for breaking down accounting and finance concepts in a way that is easy for non-quantitative people to understand. I am currently a finance instructor at UC Berkeley Extension.
