I have a degree from Texas Christian University with majors in Accounting and Finance. After college, I worked as a consultant for multiple different industries including manufacturing, logistics, financial holding/investment, and government (both local government and at TRWD). After the consulting role, I accepted a role at a local government as an accountant, a position I've been at for over 5 years.

While working I've picked up many skills including being an advanced user of MSFT SQL/T-SQL, a skill which has been vital to my career and is very important to learn as the accounting profession becomes more and more enmeshed in IT.

I've volunteered with financial literacy programs here in Fort Worth and have enjoined helping people get in control of their finances.

I've also consulted independently with a local business to help them get their inventory under control.

I hold a Certified Government Finance Officer certification from the Government Finance Officer Association of Texas (GFOAT).

I've worked/tutored students aged 16-21 in accounting. My teaching style is very heavy on the basics since a strong foundation is especially important in accounting as everything builds off itself. Everything is a debit or a credit at the end of the day. The challenge is learning to speak the language of accounting in a way that is accurate and correct.

I charge a late fee for all no-shows to confirmed lessons scheduled in Wyzant equal to the total of the lesson that was canceled or no-showed.
