"I'm a Senior Accountant looking to share my knowledge and support any age students that are taking college level Accounting courses. I also feel confident that I can help any age students learn how to better use Excel and use advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, and shortcuts. Given my lengthy experience in the field and my love for math, I think I would also be able to assist in tutoring younger students in lower level math such as Algebra. Although I do not have any past professional teaching or tutoring experience, I have spent a lot of my career training colleagues in various Accounting topics and I am excited to morph and apply that experience to help students as they brave these challenging courses.
As for my background, I graduated and earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, with an emphasis in Accounting, from UCSB in 2012. Post graduation, I worked for a Big 4 Firm as an audit associate for 2 years where I expanded my accounting knowledge and learned a lot about internal controls and GAAP requirements. During that time, I also passed all of the CPA exams and became a CPA, though I am currently Inactive. Following my audit career, I started working as an accountant in the private sector and have worked for two different companies, one large public company and one medium sized private company, over the past 10 years. Through my experience working for these companies, I have mastered the basics of accounting as well as more complex accounting topics such as Fixed Assets, Lease Accounting, Accrued Expenses, Unearned Revenue, and Prepaid Expenses. At the same time, I have been working in Excel and Google Sheets everyday and have learned how to do a ton with the software including but not limited to Pivot Tables, SUMIF and IF formulas, and LOOKUP formulas." less...
