Whatever your goals I can help you meet them. I know the SAT and ACT inside and out, including all of the various question types, tricks commonly used in distractor answers, and how students can improve their pacing.
My tutoring approach revolves around patience. I have a knack for taking complex concepts and making them accessible at any level. There is a lot of stress and confusion surrounding standardized testing, my goal is to give students the tools and the confidence that they need to be successful.
On average my students improve their composite ACT scores by three points and their SAT scores by 90 points if we work together for 20 hours.
Subject mastery takes practice and repetition. You cannot master a subject if you are practicing and repeating the wrong things in the wrong way. This is where I come in. A guiding hand can show the student the right way, without doing it for them. I think of myself as in a supportive role. My job is to build skills and confidence. I want to let a student know that they can achieve their goals.
The SAT and ACT math section is where many students struggle. The SAT and ACT seek to test deeper understanding, so they pose questions in ways that they hope the student has never encountered. Luckily, these question types often repeat; I know what types of problems show up regularly and the common topics that students struggle with.
