"Hello, I'm Alexis! I've studied and worked in a variety of positions within the theatre, both on and off stage.
I started out in 9th grade when I was awarded a scholarship to attend Red Bank Regional High School as a theatre major. In my four years I worked as an actor, director, stage manager, and in various other roles such as prop master and stage crew. This training took place over the course of daily two-hour classes, as well as multiple after school productions, competitions and showcases. I also took supplemental playwriting classes at this time beyond the requirements of my major. After graduation, I was given the opportunity to take on a supporting role in a professional production of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing at Two River Theater for a run of nine shows.
When I attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, I continued with a major in theatre. At AADA, I was taught with a focus on the techniques of Uta Hagen, F. Matthias Alexander and Sanford Meisner.
Since my time at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts ended, I have mainly worked offstage, pursuing a career as a playwright and director. I have conceptualized, written and edited a one-act play that was performed as a staged reading at Two River Theater and am now working on two additional projects.
I have helped middle and high school students with audition preparation, particularly for arts-based high schools and colleges/conservatories. As a tutor, I can help with finding and choosing monologues, breaking down dialogue and guiding you through character studies. I will also use my experience as a director and an actor to assist you in making adjustments during rehearsals
Thank you for considering me as a tutor!" less...
