"After receiving my bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Wayne State University, I have been focusing on individual tutoring in standard English grammar and punctuation for high school students and specializing in English as a Second Language (ESL) for professional adults from numerous countries, concentrating on their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Because my focus has been on individual tutoring, I am able to create personalized lessons that meet each student's needs.

During my college years, I was introduced to the world of creative writing by choosing to write poetry. I excelled in writing poetry in so far that I had three of my own poems published in the Detroit News many years ago. My college professor gave me a solid foundation from which to excel with confidence in my subsequent endeavors in writing poetry and in my ability to help students in their creative writing endeavors.

In order to help my students excel, I focus on "standard" English grammar and punctuation rather than simple conversational English. The reason for this focus is to promote clarity in communication, whether verbal or written. I work with my students on speaking (including proper pronunciation), listening, reading, and writing. Even though I have been a tutor for many years, I still find professional and personal satisfaction and joy in this work.

Rather than having a one-size-fits-all approach, I interact with my students, listening to their concerns and needs so that I can prepare a plan that will work for each student. My approach allows my students to meet their own goals in a fun and creative environment. I give my student a strong foundation from which they can build in the future.
