"Hello there! I am Amira. I graduated from Amherst College with a Bachelor's in Biochemistry. I am currently hoping to be a physician and will be a first-year medical student this fall! I am also CPR and BLS certified. Outside of school and work, I enjoy playing music, and crocheting!

I have enjoyed teaching and tutoring in different capacities starting in high school through college. In high school, I volunteered and tutored my peers for a year in math and science. In college, I spent 2 years being a teaching assistant for different college chemistry courses (organic chemistry lab, and biochemistry) where I worked closely with small groups to solve problem sets. I have found that the best way to teach is to guide the student through the problem and have them reach the answer themselves. Not only do I find it more effective, but it also makes the student more excited and feel more accomplished. My favorite thing about teaching is when a student starts to feel more confident and begins to enjoy the material.
