"I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science and have developed a strong foundation in math, which I have continued to build on alongside my passion for music. Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of tutoring students ranging from ages 6 to 18, helping them improve their math skills from basic addition all the way up to AP Calculus BC. Through trial and error, I’ve worked with students from diverse backgrounds and learned that patience, empathy, and understanding are key to effective tutoring. Teaching remotely presented challenges, especially with the lack of face-to-face interaction, but I developed strategies to help students stay focused and engaged, making the learning experience both productive and enjoyable for them.
In addition to my studies in computer science, I’ve pursued my passion for music by taking a Music Theory 2 course at my university and gaining over three years of experience playing in a band. I’ve also tutored college students in music theory, applying the teaching techniques I honed through my math tutoring. This has helped me adapt my methods to suit different subjects and ensure that each student feels supported and confident in their learning.
