"I have 21 years of teaching experience at a college level at Devry University and Franklin University in all levels of algebra and precalculus. I can tutor math for the GED, ASVAB, prealgebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, college algebra and precalculus. Even though I have a full time job, I teach and tutor math because I enjoy it. Prior to teaching, I was a math tutor for 2 years. I have also been tutoring high school and college students through Wyzant for the past 12 years. I have had many of the same students for several years and just recently, I received requests from two of my former student's parents for their younger siblings. I helped one student go from not passing the GED to being accepted into college. Another one of my favorite moments was when one of my students showed me her exam and told me 91% was the highest grade she even received on a math test. She went on to get a 100% on the next exam. She went on to be recommended for honors math the following year. When I work with students, their grades improve. When students start to get good grades, they like math more. Students start to build confidence and believing you are good at math is half the battle. If we want scientists and engineers in our next generation, more kids need to like math!
