"With the utmost eagerness, I would like to share the tutoring expertise that I have successfully practiced to significantly make students understand the material better, put the material into practice in homework assignments/tests, and have more confidence in the learning process of the class. Bringing with me a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, this educational trajectory equips me with a deep understanding of complex subjects and a strong ability to convey knowledge effectively to students such as Algebra I, II, and trigonometry. The rigorous math curriculum in this institution sharpened my ability to comprehend and deliver digestible and concise terms/problems to students and people who were seeking help to successfully finalize their classes more confidently and the classes moving forward with their degree.
My prior experiences as an Algebra I and II tutor at Los Amigos High School with sophomore and junior students as well as a Statistics tutor as a freelance job, have honed my skills in connecting with students and simplifying intricate concepts like linear equations, quadratic equations, and polynomial functions to more complex topics like matrices, determinants, logarithmic and exponential functions. My teaching methods entail in-depth explanations, problem-solving workshops or Q&A, and the use of practical applications to make these complex ideas more accessible to students. I understand the importance of clear communication, patience, and adaptability when working with students of varying learning styles. Lastly, I aim to inspire and encourage students to explore STEM fields, leveraging my background in electrical engineering to ignite their interest in these subjects.
My educational background and tutoring experience can bring a lot of value to the tutoring program opportunity. I am eager to contribute to students' academic growth and nurture their confidence in subjects related to mathematics and the sciences." less...
