I am a professional journalist who has won national, regional and state awards for my writing. And I still struggle with the same things. We all need someone to help us see the writing process through –– to help untangle complicated ideas, organize an essay structure, hone a punchy argument, and unearth ideas that you never knew existed. I believe in putting students in the driver's seat while guiding them in the direction they want their essays to go. Most importantly, I believe in leading with compassion and empathy.
I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2021, where I studied American History and Writing. For three years, I served as a writing tutor, helping students craft college essays, submit applications, and brainstorm answers to prompts. I have also run writing classes for kids on probation in rural Michigan through a prestigious journalism program, Report for America.
I am best suited to help high school/college students with school essays, creative writing assignments, personal writing projects, applications and cover letters.
In my free time, I coach basketball, binge The Wire, watch Philadelphia sports and hang out with my one-year-old cat, Rocky." less...
