I am offering tutoring in math, computer technology, public speaking, writing, legal research, credit score improvement and much more. I have a passion for teaching, love to inspire & encourage students to excel. I prefer to tailor my teaching style to fit the student's learning traits. I have been a tutor for several years and also have worked as a substitute teacher in Maryland and Virginia.
I am a graduate from the Univ. of Maryland with a B.S. in Computer Science & minor in Psychology. I am an active member of Toastmasters, an international organization which teaches public speaking and leadership. I have served 2 consecutive terms as the club president and also have served as vp of membership and as the vp of education. In this organization, I have encouraged and mentored other members. I love giving motivational, humorous, and knowledge-enriched speeches.
I have been employed as a substitute teacher; several years in Fairfax County and Loudoun County, Virginia and in Anne Arrundel County, Maryland. During that time, I had great experiences, especially with Elementary School students, math, and physical education. I really enjoy the classroom environment and enjoy expressing my passion for creativity and like to show my sense of humor. Also, as a volunteer with the Reston Community Center, I assisted teaching Computer skills to the elderly and as volunteer with the Fairfax County alternative education program, I tutored students that wanted to pass the GED in mathematics or writing.
In my professional career I have been a software engineer with extensive experience in Database & Web Development.
I look forward to helping you to achieve your academic goals." less...
