"I grew up loving learning and my teachers in public schools in rural Virginia, and then continued my passion for drama and the ancient Mediterranean in college, which meant learning Ancient Greek at Yale and specializing in it at Stanford. The language and teaching it have become a life-long passion, and I continue to seek ways to share the delights of Ancient Greek with others.

I have found that some of my most rewarding teaching are those "aha!" moments that happen with students in one-on-one situations, and I now incorporate tutorials into all of my classes.

I have a B.A. in Ancient Greek and a Ph.D. in Classics with two and a half decades of experience as an award-winning teacher of Greek. My approach is practical while delighting in the idiosyncrasies of Greek and language itself.
