"I have a degree from the University of Michigan in evolutionary anthropology. I am currently in the process of applying to PhD programs in Forensic Anthropology and Bioarchaeology. I have tutored other undergraduate students in anthropology and osteology for about two years, and I love getting to know other students. Anthropology can sometimes seem daunting and complicated, I am here to help make it easier. I understand that many students may comprehend various aspects of anthropology, and I make it my priority that they individualized attention.
Whenever I had a class, I appreciated feeling like I was not being judged for my lack of understanding. It is very important to me that a student never feels this way, and it is overall a helpful experience. I always appreciated my professors who would truly take the time to understand different learning styles, and I strive to be inclusive.
In the past I have helped other students in an osteology lab, where we would go over all the bones in the body. Additionally, we practiced things such as age, sex, and ancestry identification. I have a lot of experience through my personal research projects with specific things such as normal osteological variation and pathology. My favorite thing to do with students was analyze skeletal trauma because it can be very interesting.
Additionally, I was an editor for the Undergraduate Journal of Anthropology at the University of Michigan, so I have extensive experience reading and editing various forms of anthropology/archaeology papers.
I love learning, and I love teaching even more. This is why I have decided to get my PhD, pursuing a career and as a Professor myself.
I am a very easy going and outgoing person. I normally am very flexible with schedules, and I can dedicate many hours if needed." less...
