"My name is Michael and I started programming in 2007 because I wanted to create video games that brought my friends and family together. Through my projects, I've went on to earning a 2nd place simulation scholarship as a solo developer going against teams and a Software Engineering internship right out of high school in 2018. I've since worked as a Software Engineer for 5 years making Military Simulations using C#, C++, Typescript, and Unity/Unreal at a professional capacity.
I currently work as an instructor while I further my own University education in Computer Science, and I teach middle and high schoolers Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and AP CS prep starting from the basics. (If statements, data types, loops, recursion, OOP) Starting with the fundamentals of "what is programming" to diving deeper with hands on projects to learn about object-oriented programming principles. I personally like to create analogies and visuals for my students so that they're not just copying down code but thoroughly understand why and how their projects is getting pieced together. At the end of the day, I believe programming can be an amazing yet powerful medium that can allow you to create nearly anything you want - there's programmers working in finance, healthcare, video games, music. The list goes on. But there's a place for everyone in tech and I hope to inspire and guide you to that place.
Whether you're new to coding or you've had a rocky start and need some homework help, let's have a conversation and see where we can go and what we can work on together. This academic journey isn't one that you have to take on alone :)" less...
