"My name is Andrew! I have a special education assistant license in the State of Wisconsin where I worked with the Madison Metropolitan School District during the 2022 to 2023 school year. I graduated from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in 2016 with a 3.457 GPA with a bachelor’s of arts, where I also studied critical disability studies, public health, and social science. I also attended UCLA. I received a research award from the University of Minnesota for my research about health disparities. As a volunteer at a Montessori elementary school, I worked with elementary age students on literacy. As a test reader for Data Recognition Corporation, I graded tests using the Common Core State Standard. As a tutor, I have worked with students to improve performance on standardized testing exams such as the ISEE, ACT and SAT and also worked with college students on Varsity Tutors.
I tutor a variety of subjects from AP world history, AP biology, to algebra and geometry. My highest composite ACT score was 29, placing me within the 91st percentile of all test takers. I was an AVID tutor in 2014 at my local high school (Vel Phillips Memorial) where I helped underrepresented students enroll in college in small group settings. I graduated from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in 2016 with a 3.457 GPA and I also attended UCLA in 2010 with a gap semester in my education. I scored over the 90th percentile on my ACT and SAT math portions multiple times and received a 5/5 on the AP World History exam, a 5/5 AP Biology exam, and a 4/5 AP Calc AB exam. I use both the Socratic method and metacognitive strategies for helping students learn. I also have experience supporting students with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
Before an online session, I will send a list of policies before meeting. I do not require fees for cancellation but I prefer that this is communicated at least 24 hours in advance, if possible. Please contact me for a free consultation!" less...
