"I have deep passion for learning math and discovering new ideas and applications. I hold a master's degree in mathematics from the University of Virginia, and I graduated summa cum laude from Tennessee Tech University with a bachelor's of science degree in mathematics. I now teach high school mathematics to in a public school in Tampa, FL. I thoroughly enjoy my work as a math educator!

I have taught and/or tutored mathematics for 10+ years, starting as a volunteer tutor in a college algebra lab. I have since helped students achieve their goals in calculus, probability, and differential equations courses. As a high school teacher, I have taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and AP Calculus (AB and BC).

My tutoring style is Socratic-I ask a lot of questions. At first, this is to see where the student is at in their understanding, after which my questions serve to gently guide the student toward solutions and understanding. I emphasize both the working mechanics of doing math as well as conceptualizing big ideas and the verbal communication of of strategies. I am a big fan of using the powerful online graphing calculator Desmos to visualize and experiment.
