"Hi, I'm Melissa! I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Loyola University before I began my career as a high school teacher. I have 17 years of experience in a high school classroom, 14 of which I have taught AP Psychology. I love to help students earn college credit while learning amazing information about their own lives and the lives of those around them. My goal with tutoring students is to help them find success with the AP Psychology curriculum by utilizing the strategies we know about the science of learning and how memory works. We focus a lot on working through practice multiple choice questions to help students better assess their own areas of confusion. Each year, 98% of all the students in my classroom pass the AP Psychology exam. In addition, I worked as a reader for the college board for the past 7 years. This experience allows me to help students craft the best possible free response answers. I'm able to help prepare for the multiple choice and the new FRQs for the updated AP Psychology curriculum. I'm also available to plan out a self-study program for students and work with them to prepare for the exam.

I also love to work with students on crafting the best possible personal statements for their college applications. Part of my job at the high school is to run a program helping students prepare for college including the application process. I have many resources to help students organize their schools, determine the plan for essays and supplementals, and submit their application on time.
