"I have served 34 years in the teaching profession from the fall of 1990 to the spring of 2024, 27 in which I taught AP U.S. History. I received my BA degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1988 and completed my teacher certification program at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 1990. I received a Masters for Educational Leadership from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 2000.

I am now a retired teacher who taught Advanced Placement U.S. History at Oshkosh West High School for twenty-seven years, from the 1997-1998 school year through the 2023-2024 school year. The AP scores of my students have been consistently above the national and state averages. I also have had the opportunity to be a reader for the AP U.S. History exam six times. I have been successful at teaching students how to write essays, including the document-based question on the AP U.S. History exam. Moreover, I have been successful at getting students to master the large amount of historical content needed in an Advanced Placement U.S. History course.
