"With 20 years of experience as a registered nurse, I can honestly say I love being a nurse and I love helping new nurses. I actually love Med/Surg and think NCLEX prep is fun, and I truly enjoy helping graduate nurses prepare for success. Currently, I am BSN clinical faculty at major state university and I know the challenges of nursing school are real! I can support you throughout your journey, from day one of nursing school, to HESI, ATI, NCLEX prep, to helping you prepare for interviews. Whether you are struggling grasping concepts, understanding fundamentals, or need help with question strategy, I can help. If you are a repeat NCLEX taker, do not worry, this is not a reflection of your ability, we will get a game plan together for passing! I spent many years as a successful nurse manager of an ortho/trauma/burn unit at a large Magnet designated acute care level one trauma center, and am familiar with hiring, mentoring, coaching, and teaching both graduate and experienced nurses. Engaging and make connections with nursing students and graduate nurses comes naturally for me.
In addition to an MSN, BSN, CMSRN, TNCC, TCAR, BLS, and ACLS, I have served on numerous quality improvement committees and projects resulting in improved patient experience, quality patient outcomes, and financial stewardship. Including experience in pain management, patient safety, peer review, government regulations and reimbursement, post-op spine care, acute trauma care, burn, elective orthopedic procedures, traumatic orthopedic conditions, medical-surgical care, postpartum care, diabetes, wound care, mental illness, addiction, and psych. I believe nursing is a life-long journey of continuing education, new experiences, and adapting to the healthcare needs of the patients we serve. I would love the opportunity to tutor nurses or nursing students that have the heart and desire to make a difference! Please contact me for your tutoring needs. I commit to making it fun, using realistic scenarios, and provide honest feedback." less...
