"The passion of teaching is the outcome of the influence of my father who devoted his life to teaching.
As an assistant professor of Arabic and French and a member of an energetic section within a multilingual department. I to integrate communication in teaching, discovery in my scholarship and guidance and support in my service. My teaching pedagogy for all language classes revolve around the implementation of three essential points. The first point is a student-centered approach to teaching. I believe that a successful instructor is not someone whose main focus is to provide information for students but rather someone who encourages students to look for information. Thus, I recommend that students come to class as active agents, not as mere onlookers. This philosophy puts more weight on the students and renders the teacher a facilitator of the learning process. As a result, the teaching process becomes collaborative and creative whereas the job of the teacher is to create the conditions for successful learning. The second point lies in building a well-designed curriculum for teaching that does not rely only on textbooks but incorporates additional material from online resources to help develop students’ reading and listening skills and enrich their knowledge. The third point lies in focusing on goals. Consistent with the communicative approach, I believe that the focus should be on students’ ability to communicate effectively. In my teaching, I focus on creating activities that give students the chance to interact with other students and “communicate their knowledge through well-crafted discussions, writings, presentations, and projects”. The challenges faced while learning a new language such as Arabic or French help students develop critical thinking and enable them to evaluate difference and analyze critically.
