"Reading, writing, and speaking well are essential for academic and career success, regardless of your status as a student, professional, or ESL learner. But it can be challenging if you struggle with English grammar, spelling, vocabulary, or usage.
I can help.
As a tutor/teacher and professional writer, I aim to guide you as you improve your English abilities and master your overall communication skills.
My tutoring sessions are tailored to meet your goals and to remain sensitive to your needs.
I've worked in education and taught many levels of English over many years. In addition, I tutored privately, focusing on English grammar and literature, ESL, and business English for over a decade.
Attending the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, I earned a B.A. in English/Secondary Education. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts certified me to teach in secondary education at that time. I then went on to get an M.Div. in Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary and an M.A. in Psychology at Pepperdine University.
I taught for over 25 years in a couple of private schools in the Los Angeles area, with my primary employment being at Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles. As an educator with Le Lycée, I served as an English teacher, assistant principal, and the head of the middle school. During that time, I also worked as an evening adult ESL teacher for Los Angeles Unified School District for three years. While in education, I served on several Western Association of Schools and Colleges accreditation committees.
I've been working as a web content writer, primarily writing for 16personalities.com for the last eight years. But I feel the pull toward working with individual students of all ages and backgrounds again, and I can’t think of a better side gig than meeting and working with you.
So, let me know how I can help. I look forward to meeting you." less...
