"My name is Jerry D. and I've been tutoring all levels of HS and College Math, Physics and Chemistry for the past 12 years. My students like the way I explain hard to understand concepts in Math and Physics. I believe in a "simplistic" approach to teaching Math, Physics and Chemistry. I strive to teach without a lot of theoretical jargon and I use a methodical approach to solving problems.

While at the University of Arizona, I majored in Nuclear Engineering. I have a BS in Nuclear Physics and a MS in Nuclear Engineering. For 20 yrs I worked at a Nuclear Weapons factory as a Sr. Nuclear Safety Engineer. I was responsible for keeping the operators safe while they handled nuclear materials. I worked with the operators and educated them on the hazards of handling nuclear materials that were the primary components of Thermonuclear Weapons. In July 2002 I began working on the Yucca Mountain Project and then transferred to the Nevada Test Site where the US detonated nuclear weapons during the 1950's-1980's.

In 2010 I decided to retire and do what I enjoy the most; helping students through tutoring. I enjoy making a difference with a students difficulties in his or her class and being a part of a students progress while providing inspiration. We will do several problems, because that is the way I believe, a student will remember the material well enough to achieve high marks on their exams. I work with primarily high school and college students in subjects such as AP Physics, AP Calculus, Precalculus, Trigonometry, Geometry, Algebra and Chemistry. I believe that one of my best assets is how well I relate to my students and my ability to clearly explain difficult topics.
