"I have been a teacher to students of all ages for 20 years. My greatest accomplishment as a teacher is creating long lasting relationships that surpass the classroom and extend into real world opportunities. I have been voted Reading Teacher of the Year for Richmond Public Schools (2010). I have been dedicated to education in the classroom and also in my own home. My daughter has been able to overcome academic difficulties in school and has gone on to become a successful student and musician. I have worked with my son via his home school collaborative to push him a grade ahead. My quest for knowledge is ongoing and that is a gift that I give to everyone that I teach. I have a B.A. in English, am certified to teach English K-12 and have a Master's degree in Non profit Management, History and Education. I am also the SAT prep coach at an educational institute. In addition, I am experienced in arts integration, culturally relevant pedagogy, and curriculum development.
