"Hello! My name is Kevin and I completed my undergraduate studies in 2019, majoring in Computer Engineering and minoring in Computer Science at Virginia Commonwealth University's College of Engineering. After graduating, I started a full-time position at a BAE Systems where I took on various roles related to both back-end and front-end ASIC chip development. In 2022, I started a new role at Northrop Grumman as an RTL (ASIC) Design Engineer. While working full-time, I'm also a part-time student pursuing a Master's in Electrical & Computer Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
My area of expertise is in Computer Engineering and Digital Logic Design. Both my education and career has given me plenty of experience in designing digital logic for custom ASICs. I can tutor on a wide range of digital logic design topics which include Boolean algebra, Karnaugh maps, latches, flip-flops, registers, asynchronous/synchronous circuits, state machines, decoders/encoders, SRAM/DRAM, ADC/DAC, and clock-domain crossing synchronizers. Additionally, I have several years of experience in writing and verifying RTL designs in Verilog, VHDL and SystemVerilog, so feel free to reach out for help on digital design coding projects.
Although I have limited experience in formal tutoring environments, I have had plenty of one-on-one experience with helping classmates and friends with their assignments and projects. My strongest skill as a tutor would be my ability to break down difficult problems and concepts into simpler pieces. I'd ensure the student has a strong understanding of the fundamentals and fill in any gaps prior to tackling a complex project or design. I have been training and mentoring interns at my workplace for about a year, so I have experience with tailoring my teaching methods to different learning styles. To me, connecting with students and understanding how they learn are my top priorities as a tutor." less...
